Professor Melissa Teo is an internationally recognized leader in surgical oncology, known for her extensive experience in treating complex and advanced cancers. As one of the few accredited surgical oncologists in the region, she is frequently consulted for her specialized expertise in managing gastrointestinal cancers, sarcomas, melanomas, and peritoneal diseases.

Malignancies

A pioneer in the field, she serves as the first President of the Asian Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Group. She has vast experience performing advanced Cytoreductive Surgery and Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (CRS and HIPEC).

Gastrointestinal &
Colorectal Cancers:

Minimally invasive and open surgical care for stomach and colorectal malignancies; aimed at achieving good prognostic outcomes.

Sarcomas:

Completed subspecialty training at the NHS Peritoneal Malignancy Unit in Basingstoke, UK (a world-renowned center for CRS and HIPEC), and in Pelvic Oncology Surgery at King Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.

Served as an executive committee member for the Asian Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Group and was a member of the Gastrointestinal and Sarcoma Clinical Trial Steering Committee.
